My Background
It has been my privilege to serve the Washington D.C. metropolitan community for over 30 years. I trained at Children’s National Medical Center, completing my Ph.D. at Catholic University of America. I then worked at the Lab School of Washington and INOVA before shifting to private practice to have more flexibility to meet my clients’ needs and goals.

My Practice
I work with clients dealing with acute life stressors as well as those who are searching for more satisfaction and meaning in their lives. My strength as a therapist is going beyond immediate symptom relief for deeper, long-term change. My current practice is primarily focused on working with adults. Yet, my experience with children and adolescents helps me to support parents facing the challenges of raising children and young people as they transition to adulthood. My areas of specialty include:
-
Anxiety
-
Depression
-
Self-esteem and identity issues
-
Challenges of parenting
-
Life changes
-
Grief
-
Trauma
-
Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
It is very important to find a therapist who is a good match in expertise and synergy. This is the reason I provide an initial telephone consultation without fee. If I believe a practice other than mine would be a better match, I do my best to provide recommendations and referrals.
